Roberts Foodservice champions Dorset food by creating a route-to-market for local, artisan suppliers. Based in Dorset’s county town of Dorchester, we see ourselves as a link between Dorset’s farmers, growers, bakers and makers and Dorset’s businesses which feed, nourish, care-for and entertain our county’s community.
We’ve been a family-owned business since 1978 with a farming background, so we understand the importance of supporting the independent businesses of local people, who work hard to create some of the most delicious and nutritious ingredients in the South of England.

We’ve arranged our team and working hours to enable us to be fast and flexible to your needs, ensuring we deliver a consistently better service across Dorset than the larger, corporate companies.
We’ve worked with chefs and venue owners across Dorset for the past forty years, so we understand that price and quality is key. We’ve therefore divided our offering into two brochures: general and Dorset. The general brochure is designed to help chefs keep costs low; whilst our Dorset brochure highlights our stand-out suppliers; enabling your venue to take pride in having local, sustainable, farm-to-fork ingredients on your customer’s plates – with zero air miles.
COMPANY HISTORY
We’ve grown up a lot since our first days on Weymouth’s Harbourside in 1978 as a freezer unit shop supplying local chefs. Although fair priced, quality frozen food and chef’s ingredients is still at the core of what we do, our range has evolved into including fresh, dry and frozen produce which is sustainably garnered from the producers who grow and create these wonderful ingredients in the South West soil surrounding us. Now with our own fleet of delivery vans, office and warehouse on the Grove Trading Estate in Dorchester, we’ve made it even easier for chefs to receive quality, local ingredients at great prices.
