The Evening Standard has launched a campaign to bring an end to the wasteful use of billions of environmentally damaging plastic straws (http://bit.ly/2DEjm6v)
Over the last week a lot of famous chefs have joined the movement and made a pledge to not use plastic straws. Roberts is now joining the campaign! We are incredibly proud of everything Dorset! That is no secret. We hate the thought of our beautiful Jurassic coast and all its amazing marine life being destroyed by plastic straws. We are now stocking Biodegradable Alternatives. We ask our customers to think about switching to alternatives that are kinder on the planet.
The questions we have for you is why are you using plastic straws?! They are a clear example of completely unnecessary single use plastic that is used for an average of just 20 minutes then discarded. Every straw on the planet right now will outlive everyone reading these words. Some problems seem too big to tackle. This problem isn’t. We can do it if we all work together!
Single use plastic straws have a devastating impact on wildlife. Each year at least a million seabirds and hundreds of thousands of marine mammals slowly die when they entangle themselves or ingest plastic pollution. Not only is it impacting marine mammals, it is affecting the seafood that we eat.
Ask one of lovely sales team for more information on biodegradable alternatives. Together we can make a change!
